Hey there. There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to health and fitness. Yet, so many people get caught up in following rigid plans that weren’t designed for them. Maybe you’ve tried programs created by athletes, bodybuilders, or fitness influencers who have a completely different lifestyle and background. These programs might be marketed as the perfect solution, but the truth is, they weren’t built for you.
So, what’s the solution? You have to develop your own process. Instead of mindlessly following a plan, start by taking inventory of all the fitness information that’s out there. Every workout, recipe, and tip you come across is just a tool. Your job is to decide what actually fits into your life.
The first question to ask yourself is, do I enjoy this? If the answer is yes, then figure out how to incorporate it into your daily routine. The key to success in fitness isn’t about sticking to someone else’s plan perfectly—it’s about consistency. Can you do this the vast majority of the time?
Most traditional weight loss plans don’t give you much flexibility. They tell you exactly what to eat, how to train, and when to do it. But life isn’t that structured. You need some wiggle room to make this sustainable. That’s why creating your own process is so important. You can take pieces of different programs, workouts, and nutrition strategies and shape them into something that works for you.
Maybe you found a recipe on Pinterest that looks great. Try it out and see if it fits your routine. Maybe you saw a workout on YouTube that looks fun. Give it a shot and adjust it to your needs. The point is, you get to decide what works. Once you stop trying to fit yourself into someone else’s plan and start creating your own, everything changes. You’ll still need to put in the work, but it will feel much more natural.
Getting to this mindset takes time, but when you do, everything becomes easier. You’re no longer trying to meet someone else’s expectations. You’re simply doing what works for you.
