Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?: On Instagram stephanie_fitness_journey_

Describe your weight loss journey.: My journey has been life long trying diets. Five years ago I started lifting and tracking my food and lost fifty pounds. I hit a plateau and struggled to get below 200 lbs. I hurt my back a few times lifting heavy and backed off of weights. That’s about the time I met you and started precision nutrition. I spent a year working on the reasons behind my eating behaviors. I started working more and frustrated with my stall and injuries I started gaining some weight back. Covid then hit and I gained more. Started from scratch again. Went to my Doctor who suggested gastric bypass. I had that August 2021. I am down 85 pounds as of now and working out 5 days 2 hours daily. It’s been a great tool for me. I am still learning, putting in the work and trying to figure it all out.

What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss process?: The most effective thing for me in being successful is creating the habit of meal prepping and being on a routine with exercise. So when I lack motivation or the want, I know I need to stick to the habit and push through. It comes down to being consistent.

What has that skill led to outside of weight loss?: I am a massage therapist as a profession. It’s a very physical job. I went from part time to full time with a new company shortly after my surgery. Being consistent with weight loss has helped me with my job. My back no longer hurts. I am stronger and better able to do my job.

What advice would you give to someone working through their weight loss journey?: To create good habits you can stick to on a daily basis. Do not beat yourself up if you don’t meet your goal. Keep pushing forward. To create mini goals and big goals, try enjoying the process, learning to like yourself as you change and grow, and looking forward not back.

What's something most people don't know about you that has nothing to do with weight loss?: I have a lot of hobbies. Most using my hands. I love to walk/hike with my rescue dog -Maggie. I love to garden flowers, veggies and herbs. I love to cook. I like to create. I am a home project person. I sew and knit.
