Hey there. When it comes to weight loss, most people focus only on the actions. The workouts. The meals. The steps. But what we often overlook is how our support system and mindset shape the entire journey. Not just the results, but how we feel about ourselves throughout the process. That support system impacts how you view maintenance too... because the way you're losing the weight is the way you're going to have to keep it off.
This is where the inside/out approach really starts to matter. If you're building habits based on your food and exercise preferences, you're setting yourself up for something sustainable. If you're tapping into mindset and emotional awareness to guide your actions, you're creating a process that runs deeper than just what shows up on the surface. You're not just doing the things. You're actually becoming someone who lives in alignment with those actions.
Most people think they just need someone to keep them accountable for doing the workouts or sticking to a meal plan. But what they really need is support when the old patterns start creeping back in. The tendency to over-restrict. To white-knuckle your way through workouts. To beat yourself up when things aren't perfect. That’s where the real growth happens.
And this goes for fitness professionals too. If you’re coaching others, your energy and mindset will influence the people you work with. Whether you realize it or not, your clients will pick up on the approach you bring into your work. That’s why I’m always talking about calm, deliberate pacing. If you can model that, your clients are more likely to follow your lead. They won’t feel rushed or pressured. They’ll feel grounded and confident.
When you surround yourself with others who are also trying to live intentionally, who are willing to reset and keep going instead of spiraling, everything changes. You start to trust yourself more. You stop spinning your wheels. You start actually moving forward.
This is the stuff that makes your journey last. This is how you build a forever active lifestyle.
If you’re ready to build your own approach from the inside/out and want some extra support along the way, check out one of the YLF programs. I’d love to work with you.
