Hey there. For a long time, I thought carbs were the problem. If I could just cut them out, I would finally lose the weight and feel better. But what I didn’t realize back then was that carbs were not the enemy. In fact, they can be one of your best allies when it comes to weight loss, weight management, and overall satisfaction with the way you eat.
When I started including carbs in a way that made sense for me, everything changed. I focused on carbs that had fiber, and I made sure I was drinking enough water with them. The result? I felt full. I felt energized. I wasn’t constantly thinking about my next meal or looking for snacks an hour later.
It turns out that when you stop fearing carbs and start including them with intention, they actually help you stay on track. They help you feel satisfied after meals. They help you feel fueled for your workouts. And maybe most importantly, they help you enjoy your food again.
There’s so much noise out there about cutting carbs. We hear that they spike insulin or make you store fat or whatever the latest headline says. But if you look at how your body responds to balanced meals that include carbs, especially ones with fiber, the story changes. The energy lasts longer. The cravings start to fade. And the guilt? That starts to go away too.
I’m not saying you need to eat tons of carbs or that there’s one perfect way to do this. What I am saying is that if you’ve been afraid of carbs, it might be time to rethink that. Your body needs fuel. And when you learn how to include carbs in a way that works for you, it becomes so much easier to stay consistent.
