YLF: 052 Chat with Curtis
Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?: Instagram @curtiscoe40
What’s one habit you do almost daily?: Try and take some quite time to clear my head. Makes for a great start to my day or good relaxer at night.
What’s one of your normal routines?: Walking. Especially now during the pandemic. Gyms are still closed where I am so getting out and moving is key.
How long did it take for the above routine to stick? : A little bit. Sometimes I still struggle with it. I’d say it was 6 months or so into my journey before it was a regular thing.
Describe your weight loss journey.: Difficult, highs and lows, long, still in progress. I think it will be a life long journey. Not necessarily losing weight all my life but to make sure I stay on track once I lose the weight I want to lose.
What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?: Communicating my problems or what I’m going through with my inner circle. Very outgoing but I’m also a very private person, especially when it comes to struggles in my life.
What has that skill led to outside of weight loss?: Gaining a deeper more meaningful relationship with my friends and family. We were relatively close but this has brought us closer for sure. Also just reaching out to others and having them reach out to me and not being ashamed of what I’ve gone through.
What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?: That I can do anything I set my mind to.
What advice would you give to someone working through their weight loss journey?: Stick to it. I don’t think there is one person out there that hasn’t gotten stalled out or frustrated. Also don’t be afraid to change things up. Change a workout, eating habit, whatever to change the monotonous routines we get ourselves in.
What resources would you recommend listeners check out?: For me it was people on Instagram and listening to podcasts. Also started reading more about the lifestyle I’ve chosen. Those would be my words to someone just starting out or wanting to do something different
What are you working on now?: My mind. It’s all Mind over matter right? Just always trying to train my mind to create better habits to create a better future.
