You’ll Get the Hang of It

Hey there. When it comes to eating, exercising, and making this stuff part of your life, you will figure it out. You might not feel like it yet, especially if you’ve spent years on and off different programs. But you will. And when it clicks, you’ll realize that this has always been about taking care of yourself. That’s it.

This isn’t about proving your worth or showing the world how disciplined you are. It’s not about fitting into some perfect image of health or hitting some ideal number. It’s about building a lifestyle around your preferences and making it something that supports your life…not something that becomes your identity.

Think about something you already do every day like cleaning up the kitchen before bed. For me, it’s making sure the dishes are done and the dishwasher is running. It makes my morning easier and gives me one less thing to think about. If I forget, I don’t beat myself up. I just toss in the dish powder and move on. I want you to treat your fitness habits like that. Just part of the routine. No guilt. No drama.

You’re going to move your body and eat food every day for the rest of your life. The sooner you build habits that you enjoy and can stick with, the sooner this becomes manageable and even enjoyable. The fitness industry wants to make everything seem complicated. They want you to believe you’re doing it wrong unless it’s extreme or “optimal.” But you don’t need all of that.

You don’t need to be a top-tier disciplined person. You don’t need to wake up at 5 a.m. to prove anything. I go to the gym early because I know I won’t go later. That’s it. You can build your routine around what works for you.

At the core of this is connection. You need to connect with yourself and appreciate where you are. When you do that, everything changes. You’re no longer trying to fix yourself. You’re just taking care of yourself. And if you want to change your body or try a new approach, that’s fine too. Just do it from a place of care, not punishment.

You’ll get the hang of this. Be patient. Be consistent. And keep reminding yourself that you’re not broken. You’re learning. You’re growing.
