Where can we find you?
One action (or habit) you do almost daily?
There are so many, but making my bed is a non-negotiable. Close second is my gratitude list.
What’s your morning routine?
Make bed, brew coffee, meditate or do standing yoga (the yoga part is new!) set my intentions for the day, survive!.
How long did it take for this routine to stick?
The addition of mediation I’ve been doing for about 2 years now and it ebbs and flows. I’ve been focusing on making sure I get it done first thing, but sometimes life happens and it gets pushed til bedtime...you have to be able to roll with it.
What’s a skill you’ve developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?
Resiliency. I never thought that losing weight and gaining control over my emotional eating could spill over into so many areas of my life. However the focus and determination I built, along with my stubbornness and desire to learn really began to serve me in all areas of my life.
What has that skill lead to outside of weight loss?
That I can achieve absolutely anything I set my mind to...as long as I’m willing to work for it, not be afraid to fail and put in the time and effort required. #FailForward
What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?
I have learned a lot. This last year reinforced how determined I can be. How strong I am and independent I am as well. It’s also taught me that being vulnerable isn’t a bad thing!
What advice would you give to anyone that’s starting / restarting their weight loss journey?
Own Your Own stuff! You can’t correct bad habits if you’re not willing to admit you have them. Once you do this, make a plan and start to Fail Forward...failing isn’t a bad thing, it’s the key to learning and creating success.
What's one resource, tool or app you'd recommend to everyone?
What are you working on or planning?
Trying to get better at sharing my story through content creating lol.... one of my goals is to get back into Accountability Coaching, not just for fitness but for business as well!
Is there anywhere else you’d like to point listeners to?
NikkiHynes.com is my new blog. Working to get it up and running.
Nicole Hynes Designs is the shop where you can find Fail Forward merch as well as other tees and Own Your Own Shit stickers!
