Hey there. One of the most underrated parts of a weight loss journey is the people you surround yourself with. I’m not just talking about whether they support or sabotage you. I’m talking about how they shape the way you think, feel, and show up for yourself. This process can already feel like a mental tug of war, so if your environment is pulling you in a different direction, it can make everything harder.
When you’re trying to build a forever active lifestyle, the community around you matters. It matters for your results, and it definitely matters for your mindset. Are you surrounded by people who push you toward comparison and pressure? Or are you around people who give you space to figure things out in your own way and time?
This is why I’m always sharpening the focus of the YLF community. This space is for anyone who is working to connect with themselves, live intentionally, and take a more inclusive and sustainable approach to fitness. It’s not about what type of workouts you do or how you choose to eat. It’s about whether you are working on your own stuff and encouraging others to do the same.
If you’re focused on building from the inside/out, then you’re part of the YLF community. Whether you're using the self-paced resources or getting individual support through The YLF Experience, you're not in this alone. You belong here. This is about progress without pressure. Longevity over quick fixes. Encouragement over comparison.
And please, if you do reach out to someone in the community, just don’t be a creep. Respect and encouragement always come first. We are working to change what the weight loss space can be. The results will come, but they are a byproduct. The real win is building a lifestyle you can actually enjoy and sustain. And if you’ve been at this for years, you know that’s what truly matters.
If this approach speaks to you, I want you to be part of it. You’re always welcome here. And when you’re ready for more support or guidance, check out the YLF coaching programs. I’ll meet you where you are.
