Walking Helped Me Reconnect With My Body

Hey there. One of the best things I’ve added into my day is walking. Not just walking for steps or calorie burn, but walking as a way to check in with myself. I’m talking about walking without headphones, without a podcast playing, and without scrolling my phone. Just moving, breathing, and being fully present.

When I go for a walk, especially outside, I’m giving myself time to observe. I’m not trying to solve every problem in my life, but I am paying attention. What am I thinking about? What am I feeling? What does my body feel like today? These are questions I often ask myself during those walks. And sometimes, just sitting outside and doing nothing gives me the same kind of clarity.

This practice supports the way I approach everything in fitness and life. I call it the inside/out approach. It means you’re connected to who you are on the inside first. Then you build your actions around that identity. Walking helps with that. It gives you the space to reconnect and reset. And it’s one of those things that doesn’t have to be done every single day. You don’t have to do it perfectly. It just needs to be something that becomes part of your life when it fits.

I know the fitness space often feels like a list of things you should be doing. And if you don’t do them, you feel like you’ve failed. But what if the focus wasn’t about hitting numbers or following someone else’s plan… what if it was about you building a routine that actually supports your life?

That’s what Your Level Fitness is about. I’m not trying to change everything you’re doing. I want to help you connect with yourself while doing it. When you start thinking this way, a lot of popular plans don’t hold the same appeal. You realize you don’t actually want to follow them. You just thought you had to.

Walking is just one example. But it’s a powerful one. Whether it’s a five-minute stroll after dinner or sitting outside for ten minutes in the morning, it’s a way to get back to yourself.

If you’re looking to build a fitness routine that actually works for your life, let’s do it together. You can compare all of the YLF programs here and choose what works best for your pace and preferences.

You’ve always been enough. It’s time to start building a lifestyle that reminds you of that daily.
