The Day You Decide To Stop Waiting
Hey there. I spent a lot of years talking about what I wanted without actually doing anything about it. I told myself the timing wasn’t right or I needed to feel more motivated or I needed the perfect plan. All that did was keep me stuck in the same patterns that gave me the same results. Looking back, I wasn’t lacking the ability to take action. I was just wasting time convincing myself that I needed something more than what I already had.
And if you’ve been on a weight loss journey for a few years or even most of your life, you probably know that feeling. You’ve spent so much time thinking something about you needs to change before you’re allowed to go after what you want. You’ve carried this constant awareness of your body for decades and it becomes so easy to think you need to fix yourself before you can move forward. I know how heavy that mindset can be.
But here’s the truth. You are capable right now. Not once you hit a certain weight. Not once you perfect your eating. Not once you build the perfect workout routine. You can take action today. And honestly, you deserve to. When I say quit wasting time, I’m not talking about hustling nonstop or pushing yourself into burnout. I’m talking about the hours spent doubting yourself. The days spent negotiating with your own potential. The years spent waiting for permission.
Fitness is where I learned this. You can analyze every plan and every program. You can debate macros and reps and form cues. But eventually you have to move your body. You have to make a choice. And that same idea shows up in every other part of life. In your relationships. In your career. In your personal goals. If you want something to change you have to stop circling the idea of it and start taking steps toward it.
I think a lot of us waste time because we are afraid that if we try and it doesn’t work, it means something about us. But that’s not how growth works. Trying gives you information. It gives you clarity. It gives you the ability to adjust. Waiting gives you nothing except more waiting.
So here is your reminder. Quit wasting time believing you have to earn the right to start. Quit wasting time talking yourself out of what you already know you want. Quit wasting time telling the same story about why you can’t. You are allowed to take action today. You are allowed to show up as you are. You are allowed to build a life that feels aligned from the inside/out.
