Hey there. Let’s talk about the voice. You know the one. The voice that creeps in late at night when you're staring at the ceiling wondering why this is still so hard. That voice that tells you that you should have figured this out by now. That you’re still behind. That no matter how much weight you’ve lost or how hard you’ve worked, it’s not enough.
I know that voice. I’ve heard it in my own head and I’ve talked to enough people in our community to know you probably have too. And I want to tell you something really important, that voice is lying to you.
It’s not your lack of willpower or discipline that’s the problem. It’s the story you’ve been told your entire life. That your body has to look a certain way before you’re allowed to feel proud. That you have to earn love or rest or happiness. That the mirror is something to fear unless the reflection matches someone else's idea of progress.
What I’ve learned, and what I work on every day myself, is that the way out of this isn’t about fixing your body. It’s about challenging that voice. It’s about realizing that your body has never been the issue. It’s been the container. The constant. The one thing that’s carried you through all of life’s hard moments.
When you’re working on your weight loss journey or trying to figure out how to build a healthier lifestyle, start by noticing that voice. Notice when it gets louder. Notice how it changes when the scale doesn’t move or your clothes don’t fit the way you expected. And then gently remind yourself... your value doesn’t shift with your size.
You’re allowed to want to change your body. But the change can come from care instead of criticism. From respect instead of shame. This journey doesn’t start when you hit a goal. It starts the moment you decide that your body is worth taking care of right now.
