Hey there. If you’re new to the Your Level Fitness message, I want to walk you through something I believe can change your life. It’s the inside/out approach. This is the opposite of what most of us have been taught about health, fitness, and our self-worth. We’ve grown up believing that if we change how we look or how we perform, we’ll finally feel like we’re enough. That’s an outside-in approach, and it keeps people stuck.
For most of my life, I felt the pressure to change. I was born with cerebral palsy, which means from a young age, my body looked and moved differently than others. I was told directly and indirectly that I wasn’t enough. Those messages didn’t just come from strangers or the media. They came from all around... sometimes even from people who meant well.
So when I entered the fitness industry, and later marketing, I saw how those insecurities were being used to sell us something. The idea was always that you had to fix yourself to feel good about yourself. But that never leads to real happiness. I know, because I chased it for years.
The inside/out approach is about choosing to accept, appreciate, and care for yourself just as you are. It’s not about giving up on goals or stopping progress. It’s about building a foundation underneath everything you do. One that’s based on respect and connection, not pressure and shame.
Your actions still matter. Habits matter. But so does the why behind those actions. Are you going to the gym because you hate your body, or because you value taking care of it? Are you tracking your food because you’re punishing yourself, or because you’re building awareness? The difference matters. And that’s the work we’ll do together.
This is what I help people with every day. I want you to enjoy your life, to create an active lifestyle that feels good, and to feel proud of who you are... right now.
If you’re ready to start working on this, I’d love to support you. Learn more and sign up for coaching at Your Level Fitness Coaching
