Park the Struggle Bus and Exceed Your Daily Goals

Hey there. If you’ve been on and off with your fitness journey, feeling like you're constantly on "The Struggle Bus," it’s time to park that bus for good. No more starting and stopping, no more feeling stuck. Today, I want to talk about how you can not only hit your minimum daily actions but go beyond them every single day.

I talk a lot about minimum daily actions because they are the foundation of long-term success. Yesterday, I shared some specific ones that make all the difference:
✔️ Exercise for at least 30 minutes
✔️ Eat at least four servings of produce
✔️ Drink at least 72 ounces of water

These are non-negotiables, but what if you could stack the deck in your favor and exceed them daily? Here’s how.

Set Yourself Up for Success by Starting Earlier

One of the simplest but most effective changes you can make is getting up one hour earlier than you normally do. That extra hour can be a game-changer. You can use it to get your workout in before your day even starts. Whether you prefer working out at home, in your garage, or heading to the gym, it doesn’t matter. Just move your body for at least 30 minutes—more if you can, but at the very least, hit your minimum.

If for some reason, 30 minutes isn’t possible, then set your minimum at 15 minutes and exceed that when you can. The key is consistency. Even if you can only do a little, showing up for yourself daily is what builds momentum.

Get Your Nutrition on Point Early

Nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated. I like to knock out my four servings of produce first thing in the morning. A typical breakfast for me includes:
🥑 Half an avocado
🌶️ Sweet bell peppers
🍌 A banana
🍏 An apple

With that one meal, I’ve already exceeded my minimum goal for produce. That’s one less thing to worry about for the rest of the day. Find what works for you and make it easy.

Hydration is Key

Water intake is another area where you can easily go beyond your minimum. I carry a 24-ounce water bottle and drink two full bottles during my workout, then another one before my day even really begins. By 7 a.m., I’ve already hit or exceeded my water goal.

Setting up your day like this makes it easy to win. When you exceed your minimums early, everything else becomes a bonus. And the best part? You’ll start seeing results over time just by staying consistent.
