From Survival Mode to Execution Mode

Hey there. For a long time, I saw Mondays as the worst day of the week. I used to dread them, count the hours until Friday, and wish I could rewind the weekend. But that mindset didn’t help me do anything productive. It didn’t move me forward. It just made me feel stuck.

Then I realized that Monday isn’t anything special... it’s just another day to follow through. If I’ve taken time over the weekend to prep my goals, especially around fitness, then Monday is the first day I get to act on those plans. It’s not a reset. It’s not a punishment. It’s just day one of another opportunity to follow through.

The biggest mindset shift I’ve made is looking at the week as something I get to do, not something I have to survive. I still see the social media posts that complain about the start of a new week. It’s so easy to get swept up in that. But what if you started seeing Monday as exciting? A clean slate. A day to execute.

This isn’t about flipping a switch and being perfectly disciplined every week. You’re going to have Mondays where you’re dragging. You’ll even have Fridays that feel heavy. That’s normal. But if you’ve got a plan, and you’re focused on progress, you’ll find your way through.

Being a person of action isn’t about perfection. It’s about doing the best you can with what you’ve got. And when you have a clear plan laid out, it’s easier to follow through. You’re not just reacting to the day — you’re taking charge of it.

If you struggle with this and want some support around your goals, I invite you to be part of The YLF Experience. It’s a group for people who want structure, flexibility, and support as they build a sustainable fitness process. We’re all working on showing up, making progress, and doing the best we can — together.

Let’s make Monday work for you, not against you.
