Hey there. It’s Monday. Again.
If you’re like me, you’ve probably had more “restarts” than you can count. Maybe it was a weekend you weren’t proud of. Maybe it’s been a rough stretch for weeks or even months. But here’s the thing. This Monday isn’t just another failed start waiting to happen. This is your moment to stop chasing perfection and finally start building something real.
You don’t have to be perfect. You never did. You just have to try your best.
What does that look like? It means tracking what’s in your control and letting go of the rest. It means not beating yourself up when things don’t go exactly how you planned. Because guess what... nobody follows a plan perfectly, not for a week and definitely not for life.
Trying to be perfect is a trap. Perfection is a myth. It’s not for winners. And you, my friend, are a winner.
You’re winning because you’re here and you’re ready to take action. Not flawless action. Not Instagram-worthy action. Just your best effort. That’s it. That’s the key.
I was listening to Amanda Valentine’s “Pound This” podcast recently and she said something that really hit home. She talked about choosing the best option in the moment. If she was out at a game or in a situation where her food choices weren’t ideal, she didn’t spiral. She owned it, moved on, and chose better the next time. That’s it. It’s simple but powerful.
There are hundreds of decisions you make every week about food, workouts, mindset, and how you show up. You’re not going to get all of them right. And that’s okay. Some days, you’ll eat something off plan. Some days, you’ll skip your workout. Some days, you’ll get caught up in the moment and make a choice you regret.
But here's the thing... many of those situations are actually designed to trip you up. Stores are laid out to make you impulse buy junk food. Environments are created to push you off your path. So when it happens, don’t carry guilt. Carry awareness.
Awareness is a skill. Situational awareness, knowing your triggers, pausing to ask yourself “What’s the best choice I can make right now?”... that’s what moves you forward. And it’s a skill that gets stronger with time.
So if you’re starting fresh this Monday, forget perfection. Focus on progress. Focus on awareness. Focus on doing your best, and watch how that changes everything.
This isn’t just another Monday. It’s the beginning of the rest of your life. Let’s make it count.
