You're Just Getting Started

Hey there. When I first started working in fitness, I didn’t know that a simple moment would become the foundation of my entire philosophy. It was the summer before my last year of college. I worked at a gym as part of the sales staff. We would give people the tour, show them the equipment, and help them get started. I remember watching people walk in with their heads down, unsure of themselves. Then, after a few weeks, those same people started walking taller. They looked more confident. That shift is what hooked me.

That was when I started to understand what fitness could be. It’s not just about weight loss or chasing a goal. It’s a gateway to discovering who you are and what you’re capable of. That’s the foundation of the inside/out approach I share today. The actions you take don’t have to change. You can still lift, walk, track, or eat the way you’ve been doing. But the way you see yourself while doing those things... that’s where the change happens.

So much of what we hear in the fitness space is about what worked for someone else. But I’ve always believed the most important thing is helping you figure out what works for you. I’ve been navigating this space with cerebral palsy for years. I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed by plans and programs that don’t seem to fit. That’s why I focus on building calmness and confidence first. Because when you connect with yourself, you take action from a place of ownership.

Fitness is the springboard. You’ve probably been doing this for years, maybe even decades. And you’re going to be doing it for the rest of your life. But what if it stopped being the main focus and became the start of everything else? What if your workout routine helped you build more than muscle? What if it helped you build a life?

You are already consistent. You are already resilient. And confidence is a choice you get to make. When you build on that foundation, fitness becomes a tool for self-trust. And that trust can transfer into every other part of your life.

If you’re ready to build your fitness process around this foundation, I’d love to help. Learn more about how to work with me by visiting the YLF Coaching page.
