Your Fitness Process is Like Taking a Shower

Hey there. One of the biggest mistakes people make with their fitness journey is overthinking every choice they make. They treat a skipped workout or an indulgent meal like a complete failure. They feel like they’re constantly "on" or "off" their plan. But here’s the truth... your fitness process should be as routine as taking a shower.

You Don’t Overthink Your Shower Routine

Think about it. You take a shower almost every day, and most of the time, you do a pretty good job. Some days, you rush through it. Other days, you take your time. And sometimes, you skip it altogether because you’re home and just don’t feel like it.

Do you beat yourself up when you miss a shower? Do you panic if you don’t wash your hair one day? No. You just shower the next day and move on.

That’s exactly how you should approach your fitness. You don’t fall off track just because you miss a workout or eat something outside your plan. You just keep going.

Stop Living and Dying by Every Choice

What I see so often is people stressing over one meal or one missed workout. They think one choice determines their success or failure. Then, to make it worse, they jump on the scale expecting immediate punishment.

Listen... there’s no meal on earth that causes a four-pound gain overnight. If you see the scale go up, it’s not because of one decision. It’s normal body fluctuations, water retention, or digestion. But instead of recognizing that, people spiral into guilt and frustration.

Your Effort is Within Your Control

The outcome of your fitness journey isn’t always in your control. Your effort is. Instead of stressing about the little things, focus on these key points:

✅ Do the best you can each day.
✅ If you have an off day, acknowledge it and move on.
✅ Don't label your choices as "good" or "bad."
✅ Stop using the scale as punishment.

If you treat your fitness process like something you just do—like a daily shower—you’ll take so much pressure off yourself. And when you do that, you’ll actually start enjoying the process instead of feeling like it’s something you constantly fail at.
