You Can’t Mess This Up: Start Your Inside/Out Journey

Hey there. I want you to know something really important today. You can’t mess this up. Once you understand how to build health and fitness from an inside/out approach, there’s no failing because it becomes part of who you are.

I get how frustrating it can feel to look back and see decades spent trying to follow what the weight loss industry told you to do. They packaged up quick fixes and made it sound simple. Just eat less, move more, want it badly enough, and the weight will melt off. And if you lost the weight fast, somehow that meant you were even more successful. But honestly, sometimes you’d be better off doing the opposite of what the industry has screamed at you.

It’s okay that you didn’t know this until now. But now you do. You start with your preferences. You take the time you need to figure out how you’re going to eat, how you’re going to exercise, and how you’re going to connect with yourself. Those are the core actions that set your foundation. And it’s not just about what fits inside the box of health and fitness. You can apply this same thinking to your entire life.

Of course, there are parts of life we can’t fully shape around our preferences. We all have responsibilities. But I bet there are things you’re doing right now that drain you, and you might not even know why you keep doing them. Whether it’s activities or relationships, you deserve to question them. Why are you spending your time and energy on things or people that leave you feeling empty?

I’m not saying you have to cut everyone out. But it’s worth considering how you might redefine your relationships, your commitments, and your routines. The real magic happens when you start moving through life with a calm, deliberate pace. You’ll still make mistakes. You’ll still have moments where you look back and wish you’d chosen differently. But those mistakes don’t define you. They’re just moments, not labels you have to wear forever.

There’s so much ahead for you if you choose this path. And it starts with health and fitness because that’s the clearest place to see how your preferences shape consistency. Once you know how to be consistent in the areas you love, you can handle the parts of life that are less enjoyable but necessary. You’ll have the structure and confidence to keep going, even on hard days.

I want you to build a life you’ll look back on without regret. It’s never too late to start. Be kind, honest, and keep moving forward.
