Hey there. One of the biggest reasons people struggle to follow through on their goals is because they’re trying to take on too much, too fast. I’ve seen it over and over again. Someone wants to make a change, and instead of starting small, they try to overhaul everything at once. It works for a few days… maybe a week. Then the overwhelm hits. Then the doubt sets in. And then it stops.
That’s why I always talk about starting with the smallest possible step. I’m not talking about the thing you think you should be doing. I’m talking about what you’re willing and able to do right now.
No matter what your goal is, whether it's fitness, career, relationships, or something personal, the approach is the same. Look at where you are today and ask yourself, what is the smallest thing I can do that moves me even slightly in the direction I want to go? That’s your next step.
You don’t have to figure out everything right now. You don’t have to jump ten steps ahead. You just take the first one. Then you see how it feels. Maybe you’re ready for the next one right away. Maybe you need to sit with it for a few days or weeks. That’s your call. This process is about building consistency that fits your life.
And here’s the cool part. Once you take a few of these small steps, you start to figure out what works. You start to feel more confident. You start to realize that you don’t have to do it all at once. You just have to keep going.
So whatever you’re working on, stop putting pressure on yourself to go big. Start by going small. That’s how you build momentum that lasts.
And if you want help figuring out how to build your own step-by-step strategy and stay consistent with it, I’d love for you to join The YLF Experience. Inside the program, we build everything around your goals, your preferences, and your real life. Let’s make this work for you.
