Hey there. I talk a lot about appreciating your body and building habits that work for your life, but this episode gave me a chance to go deeper and show you what that really looks like for me. I live with cerebral palsy, and while I’m grateful for everything I’m able to do, the day-to-day reality is tough. Most days, my body is worn out by noon. My legs tighten up, my back aches, and I often have to work around unexpected pain. But I still get up. I still move. I still show up.
It’s not about pushing through just to prove something. It’s about living the message I talk about every day. I appreciate what I can do. I give myself space when I need it. I’ve learned that sustainable health isn’t about perfection or appearance. It’s about connection. It’s about building from the inside/out.
Your Level Fitness was built on that idea. My goal is to help people improve the relationship they have with themselves. That means not just talking about workouts and steps, but also about emotional health, therapy, body image, and how our industry often misses the point. The fitness industry pushes guilt. It says we need to change in order to be worthy. I say you can appreciate who you are right now and build from there.
That message stands out, especially because my story is different. When people see me online, they may not notice the disability. But when I’m out in public, it’s clear. I’ve fallen in public. I move differently. But I’ve learned how to build a system that works for me. I’ve built structure around my energy. I’ve shaped my routines around my pain levels. That’s what I want you to do too. Build something that fits you.
Whether you’re dealing with physical limitations, emotional struggles, or just the pressure to do it all, I want you to know this… you’re not behind. You’re on your path. And that’s the only one that matters.
If you want help figuring this out, that’s exactly what we work on inside The YLF Experience. Your fitness, your mindset, your life… built around your preferences, not punishment. Let’s do this together.
