Exceeding Your Minimums Leads to Long-Term Success

Hey there. When it comes to fitness and health, success isn’t about drastic changes or short-term challenges. It’s about consistently exceeding the small, daily actions that set the foundation for long-term progress.

Every day, or at least most days, I want you to focus on exceeding three key areas—your water intake, your activity level, and your servings of produce. These are simple, achievable habits that, when built over time, can transform your overall health.

Here’s what I consider solid minimums for daily success:

  • Water Intake: At least 72 ounces

  • Produce Servings: At least four servings

  • Exercise or Activity: At least 30 minutes

These are not extreme goals. They are realistic, sustainable, and manageable for just about anyone. The idea is that once you establish these as your baseline, you’ll naturally start to exceed them. Maybe your 30-minute workout turns into 45 minutes. Maybe you consistently drink over 100 ounces of water. Maybe you add more vegetables to your meals without even thinking about it.

When you exceed these minimums regularly, you are no longer just “trying to be healthy.” You are taking full control of your fitness process. Instead of feeling like you’re behind, you feel like you’re ahead. You have clear, measurable actions to track, and you can confidently say, “I’m doing what I need to do.”

The best part? This approach creates habits that stick. If you do this day after day, month after month, year after year, you will be amazed at the long-term progress you’ve made. And because it’s built on simple, repeatable actions, your success isn’t temporary—it lasts.

Before worrying about complicated fitness programs or advanced nutrition strategies, master the basics. Exceed these minimums consistently, and everything else will fall into place.
