Hey there. One of the most powerful mindset shifts I’ve made over the years is learning to look at the progress I’ve made and actually be happy about it. Not the backhanded, “Well, I’m not where I want to be, but at least I’m not where I used to be” kind of happy. I’m talking about the kind of recognition where you stop, take a breath, and say, “I’ve done some hard work. And I’m proud of it.”
This isn’t easy. Most of us have spent years chasing a goal weight or physical ideal, and when we don’t reach it fast enough, we discount everything we’ve already accomplished. But here’s the truth. Where you are right now might be where someone else dreams of being. That should give you some perspective.
Once you start to see the value in what you’ve already done, the process changes. You stop obsessing over the scale. You stop tearing yourself down every time a number doesn’t drop the way you hoped. You start focusing on consistency, progress, and the lifestyle you’re building. That’s when everything slows down—in the best way.
I’m not here with a medical or psychology degree. But I’ve had thousands of conversations with people just like you. And I’ve lived this process myself. I’ve done the diet rollercoaster. I’ve chased the programs. I’ve tried to outwork what I was feeling inside. And what I learned is that none of it matters if you don’t build a better relationship with yourself.
You can track your food. You can lift weights five days a week. You can meal prep and count macros. But if your mindset isn’t in a place of acceptance, you’ll always feel behind. You’ll always feel like you’re not enough.
You’ve got to be able to see your progress, be proud of it, and keep moving. If you can do that, the rest will come together. You’ll stop trying to fix what isn’t broken. You’ll stop starting over. You’ll just keep going.
And if that mindset hasn’t clicked yet, let’s talk about it. I want to hear from you. You can email me, text me, or hit me up on social.
