When Food Noise Shifts

Maybe you’re not thinking about food as much, but now you are thinking about protein. Or fiber. Or calories. Or macros.

The subject changed but did the mental noise actually get quieter?

Nutrition information can be useful. Tracking can be useful. The question I keep coming back to is how much space it takes up in your head and what happens when you do not get it exactly right. Brushing your teeth matters, but missing one night probably does not make you question whether you can be trusted to take care of yourself. What would it feel like if nutrition eventually became that ordinary?

Maybe the deeper work is not finding the perfect thing to track. Maybe it is gradually becoming someone who trusts themselves to make the next decision without turning every choice into a test.
