Why You Should Be Excited to Fail

 

Hey there. Failure is something most people fear. It is seen as a sign that we are not good enough or that we should not have even tried in the first place. But what if failure is actually the key to success? What if every time something did not go as planned, it was an opportunity to learn, adjust, and improve?

Many people hesitate to put themselves out there because they are afraid of what might go wrong. They picture every possible failure before they even start, convincing themselves that if it does not go exactly as planned, it was not worth doing. But that mindset holds people back more than failure itself ever could.

The truth is, failure is part of every journey. No one starts something new and gets it perfect right away. When you try something and it does not work, you are not a failure—you are simply gaining information that will help you move forward.

I have experienced this firsthand. A couple of years ago, I decided to build an online platform. The idea was to create a space where people could access on-demand content to help them live an inside-out life. I worked on it for months, set everything up, and even got some subscribers. But in the end, it was not sustainable. I could have looked at that as a complete failure, but instead, I asked myself what I had learned. That project helped me figure out how to organize my content more effectively. It shaped the way I now structure the Your Level Fitness blog. It was not a failure—it was an experience that led to something better.

The biggest mistake people make is thinking that one failed attempt defines them. It does not. The people who are the most successful are the ones who have failed the most. They have tried, adjusted, and kept going. When you shift your perspective on failure, you stop fearing it. You start seeing it as just another step in the process.

So here is the challenge. Stop avoiding failure. Instead, lean into it. Try things. See what works. Learn from what does not. The more you do this, the more confident you will become in your ability to figure things out.
