Weekend Challenge: Treat Saturday Like Monday

Hey there. I’ve got a challenge for you this weekend. I want you to treat Saturday and Sunday like you treat Monday through Friday when it comes to food and exercise. That doesn’t mean you need to be perfect. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy yourself. What I am saying is if you feel like the weekend is sabotaging your progress, this is worth trying.

This is especially for those of us who stay dialed in during the workweek, then cut loose when the weekend hits. The mindset is usually something like, “I’ve earned this” or “I just want to relax.” That makes total sense, but when that relaxation turns into two days of completely tossing your goals out the window, you can undo a lot of your progress.

So here’s the challenge. Try putting the same structure around Saturday and Sunday that you do during the week. If you track food Monday through Friday, track it over the weekend. If you usually skip the gym on weekends, and you’ve missed a session this week, get one in. Or if you’ve hit all your workouts, do something lighter. Maybe go in and stretch, walk, or do some low-key cardio. Make it about movement and reflection.

The point is to build more consistency between your weekdays and weekends. Even if you don’t match Monday through Friday exactly, just creating some structure helps. You might find that you can still enjoy the weekend and keep moving toward your goals. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

And this is something you can test. Try it this weekend, see how it feels, and adjust from there. Maybe you stay 90 percent on plan, or maybe you just aim for 60 percent. But the goal is to stop swinging so far out of rhythm that you spend all week trying to recover.

If you’re in, I’d love to see you post about it using #ylfcommunity. Make the commitment, document your weekend, and let’s support each other. This isn’t about restriction. It’s about ownership. And I think you’re going to feel a lot more confident on Monday morning.

If you’re ready to build a routine that actually fits your life and helps you find that balance, I’d love for you to join me in The YLF Experience. Let’s build something you can sustain long term.
