Hey there. If there’s one thing that will determine your long-term success in health, fitness, and life, it’s owning your choices and doing it with a positive mindset. Every day, you make dozens of choices around eating, exercise, and self-care. Some are great, some not so much, but the key is to acknowledge them, own them, and move forward.
Stop Beating Yourself Up
A lot of people get stuck in negative self-talk. They focus so much on what they should have done, what they could have done better, and why they feel like they’re always falling short. But here’s the truth—you are doing better than you think. The problem isn’t that you’re failing. It’s that you’re not giving yourself credit for all the things you’re doing right.
Instead of tearing yourself down, try this…
✔️ Look at your choices without judgment.
✔️ Recognize the good decisions you make every day.
✔️ Decide if you want to make a different choice next time.
That’s it. No guilt, no shame, no punishment. Just awareness and growth.
Building a Positive Mindset Takes Practice
Positivity isn’t automatic. At first, it might feel like you’re faking it. You’ll catch yourself slipping back into old habits of negative self-talk. That’s okay. The more you practice, the easier it becomes. You get to decide what kind of mindset you want to have, and you get to work on it a little bit every day.
Will you always feel positive? No. Everyone has bad days. But the goal isn’t perfection—it’s progress. Just be a little better today than you were yesterday.
Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
The internet is full of people sharing their fitness journeys. Some are figuring things out for themselves. Some are selling a product. Some are genuinely trying to help. That doesn’t mean their way is the only way.
What works for them may not work for you. Your job isn’t to copy someone else’s journey—it’s to figure out what works for you and own it.
Keep Moving Forward
This process takes time. Some days will feel easy. Some days will feel impossible. But no matter how long it takes, as long as you keep going, you will get there.
So, how do you handle your choices? Do you own them and move on? Do you have a plan to adjust when things don’t go as expected? I want to hear from you.
