It’s Okay If You’re Not Ready Yet

Hey there. One of the most common things I hear in the fitness space is “I need motivation.” I hear it on Mondays, before workouts, during diet slumps. And I get it, I really do. But here’s the truth no one tells you often enough. Motivation is overrated. It’s a fleeting feeling. It might get you moving for a day or two, but then it fades... and you're left wondering what's wrong with you.

But nothing is wrong with you.

The real question you need to ask yourself is this... am I actually ready to make a change?

That’s it. Just a simple yes or no. No guilt. No shame. No judgment. This is about your life, your schedule, your stress, and your priorities. Not what some fitness influencer is doing. Not what some ad is promising. Just you.

Now if the answer is yes, awesome. Let’s talk about what that change looks like for you. Not for anyone else. For you.

Maybe you start with tracking what you eat, not even adjusting anything yet, just building awareness. Maybe you take short walks. Maybe it's five minutes of stretching or meal prepping one night a week. Small actions done consistently are far more effective than some 30-day challenge that burns you out by week two.

If the answer is no, that's fine too. Seriously. Maybe you're navigating big life changes or just surviving the season you're in. That doesn’t mean you’ll never be ready. It just means right now isn’t the time. You will get there.

I’ve seen way too many people burn out because they’re trying to force motivation when they’re not ready. Or they’re trying to follow a plan built for someone else. You don’t have to do that anymore. You can build your plan around your preferences, your time, your life.

When you’re ready, you’ll know. And you’ll start with something small. You’ll do it consistently. And when you miss a day, you won’t see it as a failure. You’ll just adjust and keep going.

Because that’s how lasting change really happens.
