The Your Level Fitness Podcast 012: Chat With Lydia
Where can listeners get in touch with you? I’m lydiaislosingbig on Instagram.
What’s one action (or habit) you do almost daily?: I walk at least two miles every day. Weather permitting.
Tell us about your morning routine.: Coffee, letting the dogs out, water, journal (not daily depends on my emotions that day and grief status,) workout using the FitOn app, at least 24oz of water, walk. Then depending on work status pack lunch and get ready for work.
How long did it take for the almost daily action and the above routine to stick? : It honestly took a few months, and now in quarantine and not working I don’t get it done as early as before.
What’s a skills have you developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?: Self discipline even when there is no structure otherwise.
What has that skill lead to outside of weight loss?: Being able to get things done for work even without a work structure, very flexible hours with my job, and even getting things done around the house when I don’t actually want to.
What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?: I am very disciplined but also can cave in when things outside of my control get stressful or uncertain, but when I focus on things I can control I can dig myself out and lean on my discipline.
What advice would you give someone that’s working though their weight loss journey?: Start small, don’t overwhelm yourself with major changes, stick to eating and exercise habits that you can maintain forever.
What's one resource, tool or app you'd recommend to everyone? Please include a link if possible. (Doesn't have to be fitness related).:
MyFitnessPal for tracking foods
FitOn app for workouts
What are you working on now (or planning for the future)? Doesn’t have to be fitness related : Maintaining my habits and routines through COVID-19 and looking for new opportunities when this is over.
