A Small Change That Better Reflects What The Daryl Perry Podcast Is

When I started The Daryl Perry Podcast back in 2018, I didn’t really have a grand strategy for it.

I just wanted a place to talk.

At the time, I called it the Almost Daily Podcast. Sometimes it was daily, sometimes it wasn’t, but the point was simple. It was a place where I could think out loud about life, fitness, mindset, confidence, and whatever else I was working through at the time.

Over the years the format has shifted a few times, but the core idea has always stayed the same. This show has always been a place where I document the process.

Recently I realized there is a better way to describe what this podcast really is.

It’s a journal.

So moving forward, that’s exactly how I’m going to treat it.

The podcast is becoming more of an audio journal.

Instead of trying to force a specific format or schedule, I’m simply going to record episodes whenever I feel like there’s something worth sharing. Some episodes may be short reflections. Some may be longer conversations about things I’m thinking through.

The topics won’t change very much.

You’ll still hear me talk about mindset, fitness, confidence, self appreciation, personal growth, and a lot of the lessons I’ve learned navigating life with cerebral palsy. There will also be plenty of overlap with the work I do through Your Level Fitness, especially when it comes to building a sustainable active lifestyle and approaching life from an inside/out perspective.

The difference is that the structure will be simpler.

Think of the podcast as a journal that happens to be recorded.

Episodes will still be released consistently, but there won’t be a rigid schedule. When they do appear in podcast feeds, they will typically publish early in the morning.

If you want to see episodes the moment they’re recorded, the best place to do that will be YouTube, where I’ll often upload the videos first.

Alongside this change, I’ve also launched The Daryl Perry Journal here on the Your Level Fitness website. Many of the ideas from the podcast will live here as written reflections as well.

Some people prefer listening. Some people prefer reading. Now both options are available.

At the end of the day, nothing about the message is changing.

This podcast and this journal are simply a place to document the process of building confidence, developing a sustainable lifestyle, learning from experience, and figuring things out along the way.

That’s really what this has always been about.
