You Are More Resilient Than You Think

You’re more resilient than you think.

And I can prove it.

Everything you’ve been through up to this point, you’ve figured it out. It might not have gone the way you planned. It might not have been clean. It might not have been what you wanted. But you’re still here.

That matters more than you give it credit for.

I think a lot of us spend so much time focusing on what didn’t go right that we completely overlook the fact that we made it through. We magnify the mistakes. We replay the moments where things fell apart. But we don’t spend nearly enough time recognizing that we navigated those situations.

Even when we didn’t have a plan.

Even when we felt like we were in over our heads.

Even when we were sure we weren’t going to get through it.

We did.

That’s resilience.

And here’s where it gets interesting. When you start to recognize that pattern, when you start to see that you’ve consistently figured things out, something begins to shift.

You start to trust yourself more.

Instead of looking at a situation and thinking, “I don’t know what to do,” you start thinking, “I’ll figure it out.”

That doesn’t mean you’ll have all the answers. It doesn’t mean everything will go perfectly. It just means you understand that you’re capable of navigating what comes your way.

And that changes how you show up.

A lot of life is dealing with incomplete information. You don’t always know what the next step is. You don’t always know how things are going to turn out. But if you can hold onto the fact that you’ve always figured it out before, it becomes a lot easier to keep moving forward.

I also think it’s important to say this. Not everything that happens in life is a lesson. Sometimes things are just hard. Sometimes things don’t make sense. But even in those moments, you’re still building the ability to navigate.

You’re still becoming someone who can handle more.

And when you start taking chances on yourself, when you start putting yourself out there, you don’t need everything to go your way. You might only need one or two things to work out in a big way to completely change your life.

But you have to be willing to show up for those opportunities.

And that comes back to trust.

You’ve already built it. You just haven’t been giving yourself credit for it.

You’ve figured everything out up to this point.

You’ll figure out what’s next too.
