Build an Eating Plan Around the Life You Actually Live
Sometimes the adjustment has nothing to do with willpower, discipline or whether you are doing things correctly.
Maybe protein shakes suddenly feel ridiculously expensive. Maybe blueberries cost more than you want to spend this week. Maybe the breakfast you loved two weeks ago is starting to get old.
So you change it.
That does not necessarily mean your eating plan stopped working. It might mean you are actually learning how to have one.
I think there is a big difference between following somebody else's permanent list of acceptable foods and learning how to look at your own preferences, goals, schedule, budget, hunger cues and life, then make an adjustment you are comfortable with.
That requires some self trust.
It also fits into something much bigger for me. In Love the Body You Have, I talk about becoming more intentional about what we do with our own thoughts and recognizing that nobody else can decide our story for us.
Maybe building an eating plan works similarly.
What if the goal is not finally finding the perfect way to eat?
What if it is becoming someone who trusts themselves enough to keep adjusting?
