When Your GLP-1 Progress Feels Too Slow

Someone else lost more weight. Someone else lost it faster. Their before-and-after pictures look more dramatic. If weight has already been an area where you have struggled with how you see yourself, it can be very easy to turn somebody else’s GLP-1 results into more evidence for an old belief that you are somehow not doing as well.

Here’s the thing…noticing yourself doing that is meaningful. You caught the comparison. You noticed the story starting. That pause gives you an opportunity to choose what happens next. You can redirect the thought, and when you are ready, you can get curious about why somebody else’s progress became a judgment about your own.

If you genuinely have questions about the pace of your results, that is a good conversation to have with your prescribing clinician and healthcare team. A perception check can be useful too. Your results can be slower than someone else’s without automatically meaning what your old story says they mean.

What changes when you stop asking how your process compares and start asking what your process is telling you?
