Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?: IG handle is Kevyn_J

Describe your weight loss journey.: Spawned into my weight loss journey about 7 years ago. Dear cousin of mine who was my exact age had a stroke on his birthday. He had gained a fair amount of weight. He died a month later. His death was a wakeup call for me. Decided that I wanted to lose 50 lbs. prior to my 50th birthday. Wanted just to be in better health first of all for me, my family and my future. Still on the journey....still looking to get below the 300 lb. Mark. My highest weight was 388 lbs. Lowest 338. Floating a bit now. Enjoy cardio and now just incorporating strength training. My journey is proof that slow and steady wins the race!

What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss process?: Patience!!!!! I doesn't take you a minute to put the weight on and it damn sure won't take minutes for it to come off. Trust the process. Look for small sustainable changes. They are the easiest to incorporate into your lifestyle.

What has that skill led to outside of weight loss?: I think it's afforded me time and opportunity to reflect, relax and not rush. Changes your perspective.

What advice would you give to someone working through their weight loss journey?: Again, allow yourself grace and space. Grace to not always get it right and to forgive yourself if you don't do everything perfectly. Space to acknowledge that this journey is not a race, it is a marathon that you must carve out your on pace and rhythm.

What's something most people don't know about you that has nothing to do with weight loss?: I sing! Recorded a Christmas EP several years ago. Listen to it here.
