YLF: 063: Chat with Lizzie
Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?: Instagram- @madamlizzie
Describe your weight loss journey.: A crazy ass roller coaster lol but the real journey started in 2014. I was pretty much at my breaking point. Just up and downs for 20+ years. And then I found a crossfit style gym and was hooked my first day. It was the start of my journey. I then started CrossFit in 2016 and it’s been amazing ever since! It’s so much more than a weight loss journey and you don’t realize it until you do. It’s given me strength physically and mentally, it’s therapy. It’s now how I start my day. Not to just lose weight but to continue to be healthy, both body and mind. I’ve met the most amazing friends. I could go on and on and my journey.
What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss process?: One skill…strength
What has that skill led to outside of weight loss?: So much but definitely built the strength both physically and mentally to leave a very toxic marriage. Something I didn’t have for 23 years. I have the strength to be my own person and to have and use my voice. I am now opening my own meal prep business, E.A.T.’s because of it. Strength is more than just physical. You become stronger as a whole, to do the things you never thought you could. I have the strength to believe in myself now.
What advice would you give to someone working through their weight loss journey?: Trust the process. If what you are currently doing isn’t exciting you or making you want to continue then find something that does. Try different classes or sports. If you get bored easily (like I do), try a class that changes up, like CrossFit. Just don’t give up. Find an accountability partner or group. Just don’t give up.
What's something most people don't know about you that has nothing to do with weight loss?: This is a hard question for some reason lol
I’m a rock hound. I love to get lost and look for rocks and gems where other people don’t go. And I love ice fishing.
