Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?: Instagram
What’s one habit you do almost daily?:Workout
What’s one of your normal routines?: Daily walks, advance meal planning.
How long did it take for the above routine to stick? : Honestly, I “tried” to lose weight and do all this for years! But something happened a year and a half ago and I just said one day I was gonna do this and stick to it, and I finally did.
Describe your weight loss journey.: Tried on and off for years to lose weight. I have pcos, really bad pcos... and I always thought that was why I wasn’t losing the weight. But it wasn’t. It was because I would give up too soon. I had unreal expectations and after a few days I’d always get frustrated I wasn’t seeing results and I’d quit. But you don’t see results over night, results take time and patience. And once I finally realized that and stuck with it, I finally started to see results and have success. And now, I’m 122 pounds down, which took 15 months.
What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?:Patience, strength, consistency... to name a few.
What has that skill led to outside of weight loss?: I have an entirely different outlook on life, and myself in general. I now truly believe it you apply yourself you can do almost anything you wanna do really. I’ve realized I am so much stronger than I ever could have imagined physically and emotionally and I have found happiness and confidence within myself that I never ever thought I would.
What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?: I am strong and I am capable. I have learned so much about fitness, health, and myself over these last 15 months and I believe I can to help others so the same.
What advice would you give to someone working through their weight loss journey?:Have patience and be consistent. Do not give up, stick with it! Keep your goals in mind. Good things take time, and yes it is going to be sometimes stressful and it’s Probably going to take longer than you’d like, but quitting won’t get you there any faster.
What resources would you recommend listeners check out?: Throughout my whole journey I’ve followed @syattfitness and @realjaredhamilton on instagram and I have truly learned so much from them. They give some really great fitness, health, and weight loss advice almost daily on their pages and and 9 times out of 10 if you write them, they will write you back. They also both have YouTube videos and podcasts you can check out too if you’re not on instagram.
What are you working on now?: I’d like to lose maybe 5-10 more pounds... maybe, not really sure. I’m overall happy where I am. I continue to do cardio and strength train about 5 times a week and.. we’ll see where it takes me. This isn’t a diet, it’s a lifestyle, a forever thing so, we’ll see.
Is there anywhere else you’d like to point listeners to? Please provide link if possible:Aside from you, @realjaredhamilton and @syattfitness.. that’s really it.
