The Your Level Fitness Podcast 013: Amber Dietz
Where’s the best place for listeners to connect with you?
@dietzdiaries on Instagram.
What’s one habit you do almost daily?
Move in some way and have a sleep ritual.
What’s on of your normal routines?
Morning: meds/supps and glass of water, coffee, work
Sometimes breakfast if I’m hungry
Afternoon: work, lunch
Sometimes a walk if it’s nice
Evening: dinner, movement of some kind, bedtime routine
How long did it take for the above routine to stick?
Some not long at all, others a week or so.
What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?
I’m excellent at intuitive eating. Differentiating between foods that nourish my body and the ones that nourish my mental health. Keeping balance and taking emotion out of the process.
What has that skill lead to outside of weight loss?: My patience has carried over into my life. And the understanding that slow and steady improvements and continued efforts will lead to results in the workplace as well. My mental health has improved greatly since I’ve given up regular weigh ins and counting and tracking.
What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?
That my body is amazing and works so hard for me. That I’m more than a size or number. That I’m capable of relinquishing control and trusting the process.
What advice would you give to anyone working through their weight loss journey?
Quit it. If you have to keep restarting, it isn’t working. Whatever you’re doing is failing you... you aren’t failing. Big difference. Start smaller. Lower the expectations.
What resources would you recommend listeners check out?
What are you working on now?
Building strength, drinking more water, and doing more of what I love.
