What’s one habit you do almost daily?

Start the day with 25 push-ups and 25 sit-ups to get the blood pumping.

What’s on of your normal routines?

 I try to plan out my next day's meals the night before so I'm not eating out of convenience on the road. I put my days drinks in the fridge to make sure I get my water intake in. Before this virus stuff happened I had a great gym routine that helped me get much stronger and reshape my former "Dad bod"

How long did it take for the almost daily action and the above routine to stick?

 The food part was easy for me, since my blood work in 2018 when I was 35 was so bad I was told I might not live to see 40 years old. Throw on top of that my 3rd daughter about to be born, and I was scared straight. Haven't had a sugary drink since that day. I went Keto/Carnivore in July 2018 and haven't looked back since, losing 70 lbs in 4 month and maintaining my goal weight gor 18 months already. The gym thing took about 2 months before I got into a comfortable routine. Started June 2019 and hit a good stride mid August.

What’s a skill you developed as a result of working through your weight loss journey?

After realizing that my core was so weak and I could do a single crunch late 2018 (It literally made my cry to try one for weeks), I focused a lot on my core to make sure I wasn't overcompensating another muscle group. I used DDP Yoga to build my core and now I'm training to try out for American Ninja Warrior in 2021. I went from being fat and lazy for 15 years to playing on Ninja courses here in Texas. I've improved my flexibility and balance as a result and feel like a high school athlete again.

What has that skill lead to outside of weight loss?

I no longer have to watch my kids play while I sit on a bench at the park. Now they're trying to keep up with me. Its helped me provide a positive influence on my girls and now they want to be as active as me.

What have you learned about yourself over the last year or so?: All my excuses were worthless. I was justifying being lazy with work and family responsibilities, and it was slowly killing me.

What advice would you give to anyone working through their weight loss journey?

Inches matter more than the scale, but how you feel compared to how you felt is even more important and a great baseline to gauge what needs to continue.

What are you working on now? Still training to be an American Ninja Warrior and also adding 800 square feet to my home.
